Titan Poker was the site that effectively launched the Titan brand, which is well known in the online gambling industry. The brand offers sports betting, bingo, and a casino, but most people probably still know it best for poker. It’s certainly one of our favorite poker rooms, and one of the biggest on the iPoker network.
As part of the iPoker network you can be sure to find busy tables at Titan Poker, pretty much at any time of the day or night. It’s especially busy during peak times in Europe, because this is where most of its player base comes from.
We have written a complete review of Titan Poker which you’ll find below. This will detail all the important features of this site and will help you understand why we recommend it. We also have further information on everything else available from the Titan brand, on the following page: Full Titan Review.
Before you can start playing here you’ll need to download the software client and also open an account. Neither of these are difficult to do, and they don’t take very long. Once your account is open and the software is installed, you’ll be able to make a deposit and start playing.
Titan Poker isn’t short on deposit methods. There are many available, although some of them are country specific. You can deposit using a debit card or a credit card, which are among the most popular options, and there’s a selection of e-wallets you can use too. These include Neteller, Skrill, and PayPal among others.
This site is pretty good at processing withdrawals, so when you do cash out your winnings you can expect to receive them pretty quickly. Most of the available deposit methods can also be used for withdrawing.
The signup bonus offered here is very attractive. There’s a 200% bonus of up to $2,000 (or £1,200) available, and it’s not difficult to clear. The bonus is released in very small increments once you start playing for real money, and you have two whole months to release it all. This should be achievable unless you only play rarely.
In addition to the signup bonus, there’s also the Titan Rewards program. This has been designed in a way that casual and serious players can both benefit, and it offers a lot of extra value. The basic principle is that you earn points based on how much you play, and those points determine your VIP status and what you are entitled to.
All players will automatically receive a cash amount of up to $20 paid into their account on a weekly basis, based on how many points they have earned. There’s also an online store where points can be exchanged for additional cash rewards and tournament tokens. Additional benefits include VIP only, sit and goes, and exclusive freerolls.
There are usually several other promotions running at any given time. For example, currently there’s one called “Titan Treasures.” As part of this promotion you earn gold coins for certain achievements, such as making the final table of a multi-table tournament. These gold coins can then be exchanged for tickets in instant prize draws. Each ticket is guaranteed to be a winner and the prizes can be worth as much as $1,000.
There’s no shortage of games available here. It’s not the largest selection online, but there’s more than enough to satisfy most players. Poker variants available include Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Seven and Five Card Stud, and Razz. There’s also speed poker, which is a special format played at a very fast pace where you can instantly fold your hand and be dealt another one at a new table. This is a lot of fun and well worth trying out.
No limit, fixed limit, and pot limit games are all available, and you can choose to play cash games, sit and goes, or scheduled tournaments. Stakes range from very low to very high so you should find a level you are comfortable at regardless of what size your willing to bet.
As part of the iPoker network Titan uses the same software as all the other rooms on the network, although the way it looks can be customized. The look Titan has gone for isn’t as great; it looks a little dull graphically, but this is a pretty minor complaint.
More importantly, the software is functional and user-friendly. There’s nothing amazing about it, but it’s usually stable and generally runs very smoothly. It has most of the features we have come to expect from online poker rooms, and it does its job just fine in our opinion.
We should point out that the iPoker software does get a fair amount of criticism, and it’s not to everyone’s liking. We don’t particularly understand this as we can’t really find any major fault with it. It seems to be a matter of personal taste so we advise that you try it out for yourself so that you can make your own judgment.
One thing that we don’t like about the software is the fact that there is no Mac compatible version. Most poker sites now offer this, and iPoker is a bit behind the times by not doing the same.
A big advantage of being on the iPoker network is that the shared played pool means traffic is consistently high. You’ll usually be able to find games running at your preferred stakes whether you like playing cash games or tournaments. This is a significant positive, because it can be very frustrating to log in to a poker room hoping to play and not finding anyone to play against.
In terms of the standard of the players you’ll be playing against, there’s quite a mix. There are a lot of recreational players and people gambling for fun, which means there are some soft games to be found. Equally, though, there are plenty of skilled players here too. They don’t dominate the tables so it’s not really a problem, but some table selection skills do come in handy.
There are lots of poker rooms on the iPoker network so it’s difficult for any one of them to stand out. In our opinion Titan manages to do that, primarily because of the generous signup bonus and the excellent rewards and promotions. It also helps that this is a well-established brand that has built up a good reputation for looking after its customers well. Indeed, Titan Poker has won awards for its customer service.
If you are looking for somewhere new to play, then we’d certainly recommending trying Titan out. We don’t think you’ll be disappointed. It’s suitable for beginners too so if you have never played before this is a great option for you.
