Top Counter-Strike:Global Offensive Betting Tips for cs_summit 2
Published on February 08, 2018
The and the betting opportunities it offers are unusually good. The event brings together 8 teams, has a prize pool of $150,000 USD and is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, at the Summit House venue between February 8-11.
cs_summit 2 will be played in a double elimination bracket format, with everyone starting the tournament in the upper bracket. And except for the Finals (Bo5), every match will be a Bo3.
The competition features 8 teams from Europe, CIS, North America and South America.
The $150,000 prize pool will be distributed among participants in the following way:
The Swedes from NiP haven’t had much success after their surprising 1st place finish at Intel Extreme Masters XII Oakland back in November. In fact, they managed to miss the ELEAGUE Major entirely after they finished 9th-11th in the tournament’s closed qualifier for the European region.
NiP has recently made an important change in an attempt to improve the team’s overall performance. The organization brought in a new coach (Faruk “pita” Pita), who will likely be able to help the Swedes get back to playing top Counter-Strike again.
Just like NiP, North has been on the ropes for the past few months getting absolutely nowhere with its roster and strategies. As a result, the organization is making significant changes in order to improve the situation. Kjaerbye, the young and talented Danish player, has recently left Astralis and joined North. The move was likely initiated by Astralis as a reaction to the team’s recent failures. The squad didn’t make it to the ELEAGUE Major Playoffs, which was a big disappointment.
Another change made by North just before the cs_summit 2 tournament was the replacement of cajunb with mertz.
They had a few decent results last year and have recently qualified for the Intel Extreme Masters XII World Championship by defeating teams like BIG, North and Gambit Esports in the process. However, they’re still an underdog at cs_summit 2 and are extremely likely to lose their first match against Cloud9.
Vega Squadron was one of the two underdog teams that impressed everyone at the ELEAGUE Major. They defeated North, Team Liquid (twice), Renegades and even Faze Clan at that event. They came close to qualifying for the Playoffs and are for sure one of the stronger teams going into cs_summit 2.
They are practically the world champions of CS:GO after their 1st place finish at the ELEAGUE Major. Right now, there are only a few teams that can stand up to them, so they’re very likely to go deep into this tournament. Anything less than a top 3 finish would be a huge surprise.
Torqued is a team with an entirely new roster. They’ve achieved almost nothing up until this point and they are by far the weakest team present at this event.
Their performance at the ELEAGUE Major was shaky to say the least. The team couldn’t adapt to the difficult situation it faced (they had to play with their coach zews as a stand-in) and were eliminated in the New Legends Stage. Since this disappointing result, Liquid has brought in a new player (NAF) from Renegades and are now looking to test their new formation.
The Brazilians from SK Gaming are back to their former lineup, with boltz as their 5th player instead of felps. All things considered, SK is the team most likely to win the cs_summit 2 event, so keep an eye on them and don’t miss the opportunity to place some high value bets.
This is likely going to be a 2-0 victory in favor of SK Gaming. They are one of the world’s best CS:GO teams at the moment while Torqued is nowhere near the top 16. Furthermore, Torque is playing with an entirely new roster and are likely to run into a lot of teamplay issues against a formidable opponent such as SK.
The main problem with a match like this one is the fact that you get very low returns for a bet on an SK Gaming victory. Bovada puts the odds at -1600/+650 in favor of the Brazilians. The likelihood of success is almost 100%.
This is the kind of match that can make you a lot of money as an esports bettor. That’s because people’s assessment of these two teams is completely upside down, which means that the team who’s most likely to win also has the higher odds.
In this competition, Vega Squadron has a big advantage. The CIS team performed very well at the recent ELEAGUE Major and almost qualified for the playoffs. They defeated a number of good teams during their run (including North), proving that they’re much stronger than most people think. Meanwhile, North did not get a single victory during that event and have recently made several roster changes, which means they’ll likely face teamplay issues until they fully integrate their new players.
Bovada puts the odds at -225/+150 in North’s favor, so a bet on Vega Squadron is definitely worthwhile here because their chance of causing an upset is very high.
On paper, this is a close match and either of these teams could win. But, keep in mind that NiP have recently changed their coach THREAT with pita. Furthermore, Team Liquid’s performance at the ELEAGUE Major was poor. And even though that they had to play with their coach (zews) instead of a standard player, they looked really, really weak. Overall, NiP has a slightly higher chance to win this match.
This is another excellent betting opportunity, simply because Cloud9 is playing on its home soil again, against a much weaker team, but the odds are still good enough to allow you to make a lot of money with minimal risks.
